What is Lip Enhancement?

Lip Enhancement provides improved lip fullness to the body of the lips. Volume loss of the lips occurs naturally with time, and replacing this volume can result in more youthful looking lips. Injectable hyaluronic acid filler is used to replace and restore lost volume. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that exists naturally in almost all living organisms. It binds water and is therefore ideal in restoring lost volume within the dermis (skin). It is slowly metabolised (broken down) naturally by the body over time. The results usually last around 6-12 months.

Procedure

Before having the treatment an anaesthetic cream is applied to numb the lips. The type of filler used also contains a local anaesthetic to minimise any discomfort felt. A tiny needle is used to inject small amounts of filler into the required areas. There is likely to be some swelling after lip enhancement, and in some cases bruising to the treated area.
